5 Important Reasons Why You Should Fix a Slab Leak

A slab leak refers to a leak in the water pipes that run below the concrete foundation of your house. Slab leaks have a variety of causes, from poor installation when your house was built, to abrasion over time as your pipes expand and contract. Contact with soil underneath your home can corrode the copper, and if your foundations shift for any reason, your pipes will come under severe strain.

Suspect you may have a slab leak?

Don’t wait until you notice mold damage or a termite infestation before taking action. These more subtle indications of a slab leak should set alarm bells ringing.

  • A sudden hike in your monthly water usage is a tell-tale sign.
  • When you are not currently using your pipes, listen out for the sound of running water and check that the water meter is not ticking over.
  • Have a sniff for a moldy smell, and check for mildew under your carpets.

If you think you may have a slab leak on your hands, call Complete Restoration Services to get your leak sorted.

The sooner you detect and repair a slab leak, the less damage is likely to be done. Aside from the disastrous environmental consequences of an undetected slab leak, they can have serious implications for the structural integrity of your home.

From leaking faucets, overflowing toilets and slab concrete leaks, the sooner you find the water damage location and stop the waste, the better.
